Faith-Based Arbitration is similar to standard arbitration; however what changes is that parties to the arbitration present their faith beliefs to the Arbiter and those faith beliefs are taken into consideration by the Arbiter when reaching the decision. Where you may not be able to present your faith beliefs in a court of law due to the separation of church and state doctrine, in a private Faith-Based Arbitration, you can have those beliefs taken into consideration. In addition, if you wish to call upon your faith advisor/pastor/deacon/spiritual leader etc., present during your presentation of your position, you may certainly do that so as to help you put your best case forward. Also, where the court might limit you to only a two(2) or four(4) hour hearing, since you decide the process, you can decide how much time you want to spend presenting your information.
Further, you can decide how you want the process to look. You can decide to have everyone meet on a weekend day and present affidavits, letters, videos, statements, or sworn testimony. Or you can decide to have a more formal process resembling a hearing and present evidence and testimony just as you would in court. Arbitration awards are final and rarely disturbed by the court system.
